On their website they say:
“The Money Advice Service is a free and impartial money advice service set up by government.”
Who Are Debt Advice Hub?
The Debt Advice Hub is a debt management company offering to help people in debt with a debt solution. As a commercial business – not a debt charity – Debt Advice Hub will charge fees if debtors choose to use their service.
By paying for the service, it is anticipated that you will be able to wipe off some of your debt and pay less back overall. By using a debt management company like Debt Advice Hub, you might feel less stressed as well. But nothing is guaranteed.
Debt Advice Hub Solutions
The main debt solution that is discussed throughout the Debt Advice Hub Solutions Pages is an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA).
An IVA is a formal debt solution that commits you to make monthly repayments that are split between your creditors. It is only available for people with significant debt, typically over £15,000.
Not everyone can get an IVA and your creditors have to vote in favour of it to be accepted. You should also be aware that Debt Advice Hub will charge ongoing fees for the five or six years that an IVA will usually last, meaning you pay a lot for this debt solution.
But many people do want an IVA and are willing to pay because they have some good benefits. Once the IVA is active, you won’t receive debt letters or threats. But the biggest benefit is that they tend to wipe a chunk of the debt at the end of the IVA.
Find out if you qualify for an IVA and if you can wipe up to 85% of your debt!
Other debt solutions typically offered by a debt management company include DMPs, DROs and bankruptcy. But there is no mention of these on the Debt Advice Hub website…
