How MoneyNerd works

What does MoneyNerd do?

MoneyNerd publishes general information about money and introduces people to selected providers of financial and other services.

Our website information is free to read. It is general information, not a personal recommendation about what you should do.

MoneyNerd is a commercial business. We earn money through referral and affiliate arrangements with some of the companies featured on our website.

How do our debt introductions work?

MoneyNerd connects you with The Debt Advice Service, a trading name of Pacific Financial Solutions Limited.

MoneyNerd does not provide debt advice or recommend debt solutions.

If you submit our debt enquiry form, we will share your contact details and the answers you provide with The Debt Advice Service so they can contact you about your enquiry.

The Debt Advice Service provides the debt advice. Its advisers can explain the options that may be available and whether any are suitable for your circumstances. We use The Debt Advice Service for debt introductions and do not compare a panel of debt advice providers.

Their debt advice is free. Some debt solutions have fees and may negatively affect your credit rating. You do not have to proceed.

For our debt introduction activities, MoneyNerd Limited (FCA reference number 978681) is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Pacific Financial Solutions Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA reference number 688034). MoneyNerd is not authorised by the FCA in its own right.

Looking for free debt advice? Free debt counselling, debt adjusting and credit information services are available. For impartial information and help from not-for-profit debt advice organisations, visit the MoneyHelper free debt advice locator.

Need extra support? If your health, personal circumstances or communication needs make it harder to access debt advice, contact The Debt Advice Service to ask what support is available.

How does MoneyNerd make money?

We do not charge you to use our website or for making an introduction. We may receive payment from a provider or affiliate network when you use a link, make an enquiry or take up a product or service.

Debt introductions

MoneyNerd may receive a referral fee if you go ahead with a debt solution through The Debt Advice Service, such as an individual voluntary arrangement (IVA) or debt management plan (DMP).

The payment depends on the solution and our commercial agreement. This means we have a financial interest in some introductions. It does not mean that a particular solution is suitable for you.

Other products and services

Our other commercial arrangements may include:

Payment type How it works
Referral fee We receive an agreed payment when you complete a qualifying action, such as making an enquiry, signing up or taking out a product or service.
Commission We receive a payment linked to a purchase or completed transaction. This may be a fixed amount or a percentage.
Click-through payment We receive a payment when you click a particular link on our website.

A provider may charge for its products or services. Check its fees, terms and conditions before deciding whether to proceed.

Who does MoneyNerd work with?

We work with the following providers and affiliate networks across our business. The service available depends on the page, link or enquiry form you use.

Company or brand Service or relationship
Pacific Financial Solutions Limited, trading as The Debt Advice Service Debt advice and debt solution services.
Loans Warehouse Limited Credit broker providing access to lending products.
Age Partnership Limited Equity release and mortgage advice.
Impact Radius Limited (impact.com) Affiliate platform through which we feature offers from Wise and JustAnswer.
Seopa Limited, trading as Quotezone.co.uk Insurance comparison services.

An affiliate network helps connect us with advertisers and manages referral tracking and payments. It does not necessarily provide the product or service itself.

Being listed here does not mean a company receives your debt enquiry. Debt enquiries submitted through our debt enquiry form are passed to The Debt Advice Service.

How do we use your data?
