Janine Marsh - Financial Expert

Janine Marsh is an award-winning presenter and a valuable member of the MoneyNerd team. With a wealth of experience as a financial expert, she's been featured on BBC Radio 4, BBC Local Radio, and BBC Five Live, and is a regular on Co-op Radio.

I’m Janine Marsh, and my goal is to assist people in making informed decisions about their finances, particularly when it comes to managing and overcoming debt. The rising cost of living has made this all the more crucial. Having personally experienced financial hardship and lived within the constraints of an overdraft, I have learned the importance of being frugal and smart with my money. As a mother of two young, energetic boys, I understand how challenging the balancing act of family finances can be.

A recent encounter with a £600 bailiff charge over a parking ticket sparked a new passion within me: tackling debt collectors and the system that often buries individuals in more debt.

Beyond financial guidance, broadcasting is another passion of mine. Nationally, you might still hear me on BBC Five Live, and I’ve spent over a decade on Bauer radio stations, including Rock Fm in the North West and Hallam FM in Yorkshire.

With MoneyNerd, my mission is to share every bit of knowledge I’ve gained to help your money stretch further, focusing particularly on strategies to combat debt. My aim is to be a reliable source of advice for you and to build a community where we can all share tips and strategies to weather these challenging financial times.
