Have you received a court claim?
A county court claim is not simply a summons to attend a hearing. It normally requires an admission, acknowledgement or defence first, using the route and deadline on the document.
For ordinary Part 7 claims, a defence is generally due within 14 days after service of the particulars, or 28 days if a timely acknowledgement of service is filed. Follow the actual court or online procedure. Failure to respond can allow default judgment.
You can contact the claimant about settlement, but negotiation does not itself pause court deadlines. If you pay or agree terms after a claim starts, confirm in writing how the claim and any costs will be dealt with.
A defence must address the claimant’s case and the real facts and law, for example relevant evidence about terms or authority. You may seek legal advice, but representation is not compulsory for every small claim and does not guarantee success.

What happens after court action?
If you defend yourself in court, you will either win or lose the case.
The court can dismiss the claim, allow it wholly or partly, or deal with a settlement. Follow the decision and any order about costs or payment.
If you’re told to pay PArking Eye but don’t, they could then ask the courts to use debt enforcement action. Once approved, they could use various methods to enforce payment, including the use of bailiffs.
There are Parking Eye court cases that have escalated to the use of bailiffs. But hopefully, you can resolve the matter before it gets to this, as bailiff fees are expensive for you.

Can they remove a CCJ?
Only a court can set aside a County Court Judgment (CCJ) but it can be encouraged if the claimant agrees that the CCJ should be set aside.
A set-aside application must meet the court’s legal requirements; claimant consent does not guarantee approval and payment alone is not a general ground. Act promptly if judgment was entered incorrectly or without your knowledge. In England and Wales, a judgment paid in full within one month can normally be removed from the register. Payment later can mark it satisfied, but it usually remains for six years from judgment.
